Darla Wigginton, a versatile singing actress, has been credited with “vocal refinement and genuine comic timing” and a “rich and dramatic mezzo-soprano” by the San Francisco Chronicle. She has sung with the opera companies of Portland, Connecticut, Illinois, San Jose, Sacramento, Eugene, as well as with Theatreworks, George Coates, and American Opera Projects. Highlights include her 2006 debut in San Francisco Symphony's Le Rossignol, the premiere of Flurry Tales, performed at Lincoln Center, and the role of Nefertiti in Oakland Opera Theatre's Akhnaten - called one of the “musical events of the year" by the San Francisco Chronicle. Bruckmann’s cabaret career nearly 100 appearances at San Francisco’s famed Plush Room and the premiere of her one-woman show “divagation: an internal cabaret” at the San Francisco Fringe Festival. Anja Strauss was born and raised in Germany before moving to the US in 2000 to complete her post-graduate degree at the Juilliard School in New York City. Since then she has performed at venues like Weill Hall/Carnegie Hall, Lincoln Center and with opera companies such as Sacramento Opera, San Francisco Lyric, Lamplighter Theatre and Pacific Repertoire Opera. Her tremendously diverse repertoire ranges from opera, lied, oratorio and concert works to new music and German songs from the Weimar era. Operatic roles include Blonde, Despina, Musetta, Oscar, Gretel, Frasquita, Clorinda and Mabel among others.
